SUMMARY
Following a referral from another client, we were asked to help a start-up evaluate a new cutting edge energy storage system.
Their system included a wide range of innovations including new material structures, processes for forming the materials, algorithms and the associated electronics for charging and discharging, as well as a reduction in the need for precious metal catalysts and making use of scalable techniques to synthesise the materials. It was a combination the inventor felt would play a significant part in helping us take the next step toward a more sustainable energy generation mix.
VALUE DELIVERED
We were able to put together a multi-disciplinary team that drew on the skills from several of our departments. Working closely together we designed an IP strategy that not only mapped to their business plan to provide the maximum protection for all the different areas involved but also uncovered several ways to bring elements of the system to market more quickly.
