It has just been announced that the start of the Sunrise Period has been postponed for two months.
It was initially planned that the Sunrise Period would begin on the 1 January 2023 allowing the UPCA to come into force on the 1 April 2023. However, it has been felt that additional time was needed to allow future users to:
“Prepare themselves for the strong authentication which will be required to access the Case Management System (CMS) and to sign documents.”
In a joint statement Klaus Grabinski, President of the UPC Committee Court of Appeal and Johannes Karcher, Acting Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the UPC, reinforced their belief that all other preparatory work is on track and remains in line with their proposed roadmap, and they made it clear that the start of the UPC is not expected to be delayed beyond the 1 June 2023.
We will continue to follow progress and report on any changes to the launch of the UPC but if you need any help to get UPC ready, please contact us today.
