Elisabeth has both academic and industrial experience in chemistry and materials science. After finishing her master’s degree in chemistry, she worked at a nanotechnology start-up in the UK, gaining experience in the commercialisation and scale-up of nanocoating materials.

She later completed a PhD in chemistry with a research focus of understanding and controlling the conductance properties of molecular junctions. Her experience spans molecular electronics, materials science, surface science and nanotechnology.

During her career, Elisabeth has built an international profile and has worked in the UK, Australia, Denmark and China. Before joining Potter Clarkson, she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Copenhagen, with extended visits to University of Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing as a visiting academic and lecturer.

 

Specialisms

Industrial, process and formulation chemistry, advanced materials and materials science, nanotechnology, electronic materials and cleantech including batteries, energy storage devices and solar cells.

Education

Elisabeth obtained a first-class integrated master's degree in chemistry from the University of Bath with a one-year placement. She followed this with a PhD in chemistry from the University of Copenhagen and spent time as a visiting academic at the University of Chinese Academy of Science.

Interests

Outside work, Elisabeth is enthusiastic about watching, playing and coaching team sports - particularly netball and Gaelic football. She also enjoys cooking, gardening and learning new languages.
