Trainee Patent Attorney

As an accomplished physicist, Kaashif worked at the Atomic Weapons Establishment, during which time he was funded to complete his PhD on the development of high current electromagnetic flyer plate technologies, including high current pulse shaping and the development of a novel current distribution sensor.

It was during this time that Kaashif also wrote numerous conference papers and presented his work at several international events including in Hawaii, Russia, San Francisco and Germany. Kaashif also received peer recognition after publishing a journal article in Review of Scientific Instruments. 

After leaving the Atomic Weapons Establishment, Kaashif went on to work for MBDA where he was part of their novel systems team and worked on their directed energy programs. During his career, Kaashif has built up good links with numerous universities and research institutions both in the UK and internationally. 

Kaashif joined Potter Clarkson in February 2019 and works in the electronics and computing team.

Kaashif graduated with a first-class master’s degree in physics with astrophysics at the University of Leicester. He completed his PhD at Loughborough University and was a visiting academic at Imperial College London.

Awards & Recognition

Kaashif has received a number of international awards including the 2014 High Voltage Association Student Excellence Award at the International Power Modulator and High Voltage Conference in San Diego and the Young Researcher Award at the 2012 Euro-Asia pulsed power conference in Germany.  

Interests

Kaashif enjoys DIY and regularly spends time renovating properties with his father.  He also enjoys playing badminton. Recently Kaashif has taken up car detailing and paint correction.
