Karina’s career began in Chile at a radio-pharmaceutical company as a cyclotron operator, before she gained over four years’ experience in scientific research as a postgraduate student at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and King’s College London.
She brings significant scientific research experience to her client portfolio, including non-ionizing radiation and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.
Karina joined Potter Clarkson in September 2019 and is part of the electronics and computing department.

Education
Karina studied astronomy and physics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and completed her PhD candidate in medical imaging sciences at King’s College London.

Karina has been acknowledged with merit awards at international scientific conferences, including two Magna Cum Laude abstracts at ISMRM meetings 2017 and 2019.
She received a Medalla Camara de Diputados de Chile (Medal of the House of Representatives of Chile) for graduating summa cum laude at her secondary school. She also received a five-year full scholarship award by Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile to pursue undergraduate studies, a one-year full scholarship award by CONICYT (Chile) to pursue a master’s degree in the UK, and a four-year full scholarship award by EPSRC (UK) and Siemens (Germany) to pursue a DPhil programme at King’s College London.

Interests
Outside work, Karina likes to play the piano and Spanish guitar. She also enjoys landscape photography and learning other languages.
