As group general counsel, Andrew brings a wealth of experience both in legal practice, as a commercial litigator, and in executive management.

After spending over 25 years in private practice with both Shakespeares (now Shakespeare Martineau) – where he was managing partner for five years – and Langleys, Andrew remains on the solicitors' roll as a non-practising solicitor. 

His extensive management experience of professional service organisations has also seen him hold positions including chief executive of a leading barristers' chambers, and a director of PAMIA, the mutual insurance company that carries the professional indemnity insurance for over 95% of the UK and Ireland’s patent and trade mark profession. 

Before being appointed group general counsel in May 2020, which he does part-time, he was Potter Clarkson's practice director from January 2014. He is a member of the board.

Andrew enjoys writing crime and thriller novels; travel, especially cruises; armchair football, as a Chelsea fan for more than 50 years; films; good TV comedy and drama; and rural living, including walking the dogs.
