On Tuesday, we shared an insight from a private source within the EPO indicating that access to the previously announced mechanisms for delaying grant and filing early requests for unitary effect would not be postponed. The EPO has now confirmed this.

The previously announced mechanisms for requesting early unitary effect and delaying grant will still be available from 1 January 2023, irrespective of the delay to the start of the Sunrise Period.

It has just been announced that the start of the Sunrise Period has been postponed for two months.
